Plant Equipment

Plant equipment comes in a lot bigger form than construction tools, and is also normally handled by the big boys who know what they are doing, after all no-body wants to come face to face with a bulldozer under the wrong hands do they?! Take a read of some of our reviews on a number of plant equipment:

- Bulldozer -> with an average length of 4.7 metres and a height of 3.05 metres, you can rely on them to push materials like soil, rubble and rocks in very large quantities. The first bulldozer was adapted from the Holt farm tractors that ploughed their fields, and the first bulldozer was invented in 1923 by a farmer and a draftsman, and since then you can find a number of different makes and models.

- Cherry pickers -> come under a number of different names which include, man lift and basket crane. They are a piece of equipment that works as an aerial work platform. They consist of a hydraulic lifting system with a bucket at the end of it. They got their name originally as they were made to be used in orchards allowing the fruit picker to get to those hard to reach places. Cherry pickers can either be attached to a truck they can stand alone.

- JCBs -> was first known as J C Bamford Excavators Ltd, is a family business that puduce a number of engineering vehicles that are famously known for there yellow and black designs and they are the third largest construction equipment manufacturers in the world. JCB were one of the first to make a tractor back in 1990, they out did their competitors as their tractor could be driven on the roads and reached the speed of 40 mph.

- Diggers -> these allow you to make any sized hole, they come in a number of forms from backhoes to mini diggers to loaders, which allows you get the right digger for the job in hand.

- Hydraulic lifts -> these machines come in particularly useful for any jobs that are on buildings higher than 5 floors. As much as they cost they have a number of advantages, with only using power to lift them up they use gravity itself to travel downwards meaning that overall their energy usage is only low. The pump and motor of a hydraulic lift is located on the outside in its only self contained apartment allowing any service work that's needed to be done, can be done so without having to spend a large amount of time within the lift shaft.
